
Mad Ants Fall to BayHawks

FORT WAYNE, IN (March 15th, 2012) - DJ Kennedy scored 27 points for the Erie BayHawks to give them the 95-83 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
The BayHawks outscored the Mad Ants 24-18 in the first 12 minutes of play. Kennedy finished the period with 8 points.
The BayHawks extended their lead to double figures in the second and were up by as many as 13 points halfway through the period. The Mad Ants scored 7 straight points with 4:00 left in the half and were able to cut the lead to just 6 going into the locker rooms.
Mychel Thompson scored 12 of his 19 points in the third to help the BayHawks keep a 9 point lead going into the final period.
The BayHawks extended their lead to 16 in the fourth and the Mad Ants were never able to cut into the lead.
Behind Kennedy's 27 points and Thompson's 19, Kyle Goldcamp added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Marvin Phillips contributed 14 off the bench.
Anthony Goods led the way for the Mad Ants with 22 points. Detroit Pistons assignee Vernon Macklin finished 18 points and 18 rebounds in his first game as a Mad Ant. Newly acquired Stephen Graham added 15 points off the bench.
