Dallas Mavericks Assign Lamar Odom to Texas Legends

Frisco, TX MAR. 02, 2012 - Today the Dallas Mavericks assigned 6'10" forward Lamar Odom to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' NBA D-League affiliate. The assignment marks the 41st time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and Odom's first assignment to the Legends this season.
Appearing in 32 games for the Mavericks this season, Odom is averaging 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 21.4 minutes. Odom was the fourth overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1999 NBA Draft after playing one season for Rhode Island.
Odom was an integral part in the Lakers back-to-back NBA Championships in 2009 and 2010. In 2010-2011 Odom was awarded the NBA's Sixth-Man of the Year Award, averaging 14.4 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Mavericks acquired Odom on Dec. 11, 2011 along with a 2012 second round pick and other second round considerations in 2013 from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a protected first round draft pick. Odom has played in the NBA for 12 seasons and holds a career average of 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
Odom is expected to debut at Dr Pepper Arena tomorrow when the Texas Legends (18-18) play the Austin Toros (22-13) at 7:00PM.
