
Springfield Armor's Jerry Smith Named NBA Development League Player of the Month

NEW YORK, March 1, 2012 - Springfield Armor guard Jerry Smith was today named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in February. Smith, who was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week on Feb. 6, is a first-time Player of the Month honoree.
Smith (6-2, 190, Louisville) led Springfield to a perfect 8-0 record in February, averaging 22.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 35.4 minutes. He scored in double figures in all eight games, recording back-to-back double-doubles on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 and finishing with more than 20 points in five contests. A 2012 NBA D-League All-Star, Smith was Springfield's leading scorer five times in February.
Fifteen additional players earned honorable mention accolades. They include: Austin's Leo Lyons, Bakersfield's Jeremy Wise, Canton's Manny Harris, Dakota's Edwin Ubiles, Erie's Keith McLeod, Fort Wayne's Darnell Lazare, Idaho's Marcus Banks, Iowa's Mike Efevberha, Los Angeles' Gerald Green, Maine's Morris Almond, Rio Grande Valley's Will Conroy, Reno's Blake Ahearn, Sioux Falls' Trey Gilder, Texas' Antonio Daniels and Tulsa's Marcus Lewis.
