
D-Fenders Edged By Charge

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders were edged by the Canton Charge 110-101 at the Toyota Sports Center in the first meeting between the teams this season.
Despite shooting a polished 58.3 percent from the field and outscoring the Charge by 40 points in the paint, the D-Fenders saw Canton shoot 54.5 percent from three-point range and knock down 17 more free-throws in Saturday night's defeat.
The D-Fenders (17-10) found themselves down by six to start the fourth and regained the lead with 4:27 remaining, but were outlasted by the Charge in the final minutes.
Gerald Green finished with a game-high 25 points to go with two steals, and Mardy Collins, who dropped in 17 first half points to help give the D-Fenders a 60-56 halftime advantage, also scored 25 points and dished out five assists. Additionally, Brandon Costner dropped in 14 points while Zach Andrews tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season for Los Angeles.
Luke Harangody (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Manny Harris (21 points) totaled a combined 26 of 54 second-half points to help the Charge surge in the second half. Additionally, TJ Campbell contributed 19 points and 7 assists and Antoine Agudio pitched in 14 points to improve Canton to 12-14 on the season.
Los Angeles next plays the Charge on Monday, Jan. 30 at 7:00 p.m., and the game can be viewed online through NBA Futurecast on www.d-league.com.
