FORT WAYNE, IN (January 17, 2011) -The Dakota Wizards beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 108-100 Tuesday night at the War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne carried a seven point lead into halftime, but the second half belonged to Dakota.

Both teams shot below 50 percent in the opening quarter of play as Fort Wayne and Dakota slugged out a tightly contested first period. Shy Ely of the Wizards was perfect from the field as he led all scorers with eight points. Dakota held a one-point advantage going into the second quarter.

Led by Walker Russell's 12 second quarter points, the Mad Ants controlled the second frame. Edwin Ubiles of the Wizards kept his team close with 14 points of his own as Fort Wayne held a 53-46 lead at halftime.

Tommy Smith of the Wizards exploded for 16 points in the third quarter as the Dakota deficit disappeared and turned into a seven point lead going into the final quarter of play.

The Wizards maintained their momentum from the third quarter and allowed Fort Wayne to only get as close as four points in the final frame.

Cameron Jones led Fort Wayne in the scoring column with 24 points. Russell finished with 18 points and a game-high 16 assists and Jarrid Famous chipped in 15 points and a game-high 20 rebounds.

Smith finished with a game-high 30 points and 11 rebounds, and Edwin Ubiles added 24 points for the Wizards.
