
Gordon Assigned to Crunch; Palmieri, Jacques and Tarkki Recalled

Syracuse, NY (January 8, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have assigned right wing Andrew Gordon to Syracuse. The Ducks have also recalled right wing Kyle Palmieri, left wing J.F. Jacques and goaltender Iiro Tarkki.
Gordon, 26, has seen action in 37 games with the Ducks this season, recording five points (2g, 3a) and six penalty minutes. The Halifax, NS, native has played in 49 career NHL games with Anaheim and Washington totaling seven points (3g, 4a) and six penalty minutes. Gordon has collected 221 points (102g, 119a) in 266 career AHL games with the Hershey Bears. The 6'0'', 194 lb, winger played in 120 NCAA games with St. Cloud State University totaling 102 points (51g, 51a). The Ducks acquired Gordon via free agency on July 2, 2011, he was originally drafted in the seventh round, 197th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry draft by the Washington Capitals.
Palmieri, 20, has played in seven games with the Ducks this season recording two points (1g, 1a) and two penalty minutes. Palmieri has played in 23 games for the Crunch totaling 31 points (21g, 10a) and 23 penalty minutes. After scoring two goals in last night's 4-3 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Palmieri is tied for the league lead in goals scored. The Ducks drafted Palmieri in the first round, 26th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Jacques, 26, has played in five games with Anaheim this season going scoreless with seven penalty minutes. Jacques had recorded 19 points (11g, 8a) and 43 penalty minutes in 23 games played with the Crunch. The Ducks acquired Jacques via free agency on July 6, 2011, he was originally drafted in the second round, 68th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.
Tarkki, 26, has played in 23 games for the Crunch this season. The 6'2'', 190 lb, goaltender has a goals against average of 2.85 and a 0.916 save percentage. The Rauma, Finland native spent the 2009-11 seasons playing for the Espoo Blues of the Finnish Elite League. Tarkki was signed as a free agent by the Ducks on May 6, 2011.
The Crunch are back in action on January 13 when the visit the defending Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators. The team returns home on January 20, 2012 to host the Norfolk Admirals at the War Memorial Arena.
