
Red Claws Open Saturday Practice to Fans

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that their Saturday, November 19 morning practice will be open to spectators. The practice, which begins at 10 AM at the Portland Expo Building, will be one of the last few during training camp before the 2011-12 Red Claws roster is selected.
Fans will be able to see behind the scenes as Red Claws Head Coach Dave Leitao puts the players through the paces. The final roster for the 2011-12 will be set Wednesday, November 23, and the 2011-12 Red Claws will open the season on the road at Springfield on Friday, November 25.
The Red Claws will play 24 home games at the Portland Expo this season, and individual ticket prices will be available at for $6, $10, $15, $20 and $30. Of the 24 home games, 23 will be weekend contests with 12 falling on Sundays and featuring early start times to encourage families with young children to attend. Maine fans will have the opportunity to see 12 of the Red Claws' 15 NBA D-League opponents. Making their way to Maine this season will be: Springfield Armor, Iowa Energy, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Erie BayHawks, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Idaho Stampede, Reno Bighorns, Dakota Wizards, Texas Legends, Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, and Tulsa 66ers.
LOOKING FOR NEW HEIGHTS AND A LUCKY CHARM FOR HOME OPENER WEEKEND: The Red Claws will hit the court the Expo for their home opener on December 3 against arch rival Springfield. The game will feature a special halftime act by the Skyriders!, a nationally-known trampoline acrobatic act that has performed at NBA arenas around the country. The Red Claws will complete their home opener weekend on December 4 when they host East Conference foe the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in a game that will feature a special guest, popular Celtics mascot Lucky.
