Scott Brand
After accumulating substantial amounts of penalty minutes as a junior player, Brand became a referee on a full time basis in the 1980's. Besides working games in the USHL, he also officiated in professional contests in the ECHL and IHL and at the college level in the CCHA. Stepping off of the ice in the 1990's, Brand served as the Waterloo Black Hawks general manager and as a vice president of the Dubuque Fighting Saints for much of the decade. He currently oversees the USHL's referees and linesmen and is the referee-in-chief for several other junior and minor professional leagues.
Johnathan Morrison
After growing up in Mason City, Morrison has officiated in almost every hockey league in the United States, except the NHL. The work has even become international; Morrison was a linesman during the gold medal game at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo and will be on the crew which works the 2012 IIHF Men's World Championships in Scandinavia. He also served one season officiating in Holland's professional league and recently spent a month in Tokyo instructing referees and linesmen for the IIHF. Morrison is also involved with sled hockey, which allows those with lower body disabilities to participate in the sport.
Tom Albindia
The 22-year-old is in his fourth USHL season, while keeping busy with appearances on several other junior circuits and in the Minnesota State High School League. He has worked two National Junior Championships as an official. A former goalie from St. Paul, Albindia know the rules beyond the rink; with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and criminal justice, he also works as a 911 dispatcher for the Minnesota State Patrol.
