SPORTING KANSAS CITY FACES D.C. UNITED IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Sporting KC will play D.C. United at 6:30 p.m. CT this Saturday at RFK Stadium in their final game of the 2011 MLS regular season. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on KSMO with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. CT.

D.C. United (9-12-12) is currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, most recently coming off a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers on Wednesday night. The result eliminated D.C. from playoff contention.

LIVESTRONG SPORTING PARK TO HOST WATCH PARTY FOR SATURDAY'S MATCH

Sporting Kansas City will host a watch party for fans to attend to see Sporting Kansas City take on D.C. United. Saturday's watch party will be held in the Member's Club at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. CT in advance of the 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

Admission is free and open to all ages.

PLAYOFF TICKET INFO ANNOUNCED

Sporting Kansas City announced on Wednesday that tickets for the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 21st.

Fans can purchase playoff tickets beginning on Friday at 10:00 a.m. CT by calling 1-888-4KC-GOAL or by visiting TicketMaster.com. Tickets for Sporting Kansas City's playoff run start at just $20 per game.

SAPONG LEADING RACE FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

With one match remaining in the 2011 regular season, buzz is building around forward C.J. Sapong as the 2011 Rookie of the Year in MLS. Having scored a total of eight goals and provided five assists in League and U.S. Open Cup play in 2011, Sapong leads all rookies in points and is the only player on Sporting Kansas City's roster to feature in every regular season match this this year.

In his most recent appearance against New York on Saturday, Sapong came on as a second-half substitute and scored his fifth League goal of the season 46 seconds later.

MLS Announces 2012 Expansion Draft Date and Procedure

Major League Soccer will hold the 2012 MLS Expansion Draft on Wednesday, November 23, at 2 p.m. ET. The League's 19th team, the Montreal Impact, will select 10 players during the 10-round draft. Each current MLS club will have the opportunity to protect 11 players from their 2011 roster.

EASTERN CONFERENCE SEEDING TO BE DECIDED ON FINAL WEEKEND

While Sporting Kansas City currently occupy top spot in the Eastern Conference, there exists a series of results that could put them as low as the third wild card spot after this weekend. Just five point separate Sporting Kansas City and New York, who are currently sitting in the final playoff spot with one game to go in the regular season.

NATURALIZATION CEREMONY TAKES PLACE AT LIVESTRONG SPORTING PARK

50 candidates representing 28 different countries and every continent took part in a naturalization ceremony for United States citizenship on the field during pregame of Sporting Kansas City's match against the New York Red Bulls last Saturday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The Honorable Robert D. Berger administered the ceremony, which was attended by United States Senator Jerry Moran.

FINAL MCDONALD'S CLINIC HELD AT SWOPE PARK

The final McDonald's clinic was held Wednesday night at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park as area youths were treated by the appearance of Sporting Kansas City forwards Teal Bunbury and Kei Kamara to guide them through a variety of fun games and drills.

SPORTING KANSAS CITY LAUNCHES 2012 SEASON TICKET SALES

Sporting Kansas City is now accepting initial payments for new Season Ticket Members for the 2012 season at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.

Fans may reserve their seats to see all the exciting Major League Soccer action and other soccer events at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park next season by making an initial payment of $100 per seat. Those making an initial payment for season tickets in 2012 will also receive priority access for tickets to any home playoff matches at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in2011. Fans ages 21 and older now have the option to purchase season tickets in the Budweiser Corner at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, an all-inclusive terrace area which provides stadium-style food options and draft beer choices.

Another new seating package for 2012 is the Sporting Family Plan. Offered exclusively in the Providence Sporting Zone, the Sporting Family Plan gives fans the option to purchase two season tickets and receive two more for children ages 12 and under for free. Season tickets in the Providence Sporting Zone start at $380 for the entire 2012 season.

Current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members are encouraged to renew their 2011 season tickets by September 28th. Seating priority for the 2012 season will be available to all current Sporting Kansas City season ticket members who renew their 2011 season tickets before the renewal deadline.
