Brandt Returns to Gwinnett for 2011-12 Season

The Gwinnett Gladiators have agreed to terms with forward Andy Brandt for the 2011-12 season.

Brandt returns to Gwinnett for his fifth professional season and his fourth with the Gladiators. He earned 40 points (19 goals, 21 assists) in 69 games last season with the Gladiators. He also had two assists in five games with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League last season.

Brandt earned two call-ups to the AHL in 2009-10 while with the Victoria Salmon Kings. He appeared in two games with Lake Erie and three games with Manitoba but did not register a point. Brandt finished with 28 points (13g, 15a) for Victoria in 64 ECHL games.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward out of Wausau, Wisconsin, appeared in all 72 games with the Gladiators in both the 2007-08 season and the 2008-09 season. He had a career year in his rookie campaign finishing with 44 points (18g, 26a) to rank second in scoring among Gwinnett rookies that season.

Brandt began his professional career in 2007 with the Gladiators. He joined Gwinnett after completing his senior season at the University of Wisconsin and was held scoreless in four regular season and one Kelly Cup Playoff game with Gwinnett.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
