Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- The Bakersfield Condors will hold their 14th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, October 17th at the RiverLakes Golf Course in Bakersfield to benefit Kern Bridges Youth Homes. The shotgun start will begin at noon.
Now in its 14th year, the golf classic provides fans with an exceptional opportunity to play a round with professional hockey players. Every year, the day provides endless entertainment, great memories, and tremendous fun along with plenty of surprises. It is more than just a round of golf. It is a day spent rubbing elbows with the pros and getting to know them off the ice, all while raising money for a great local charity.
Teams will include four entrants who will be paired with a Condors player with entry fees set at $125 per person. The entry fee includes greens fees, golf cart, range balls, sack lunch, and a Mexican Fiesta meal after the tournament. Also, one free putt in the putting contest, three free raffle tickets, specialty hat and a goodie bag are included in the fee. Non-Golfer Dinner Only tickets are available for $20. The Links at Riverlakes Ranch is located at 5201 Riverlakes Drive in Bakersfield.
"This is an event that many people look forward to all year," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "It will be a great way for fans to get to know the players, but also for the players to get to know the fans of Condorstown shortly after relocating to Bakersfield."
All proceeds from the event will go to the Kern Bridges Youth Homes, which provides a safe, stable and consistent environment for children who have been abused or neglected, and for children with serious emotional and behavioral difficulties. The event has raised nearly $60,000 in its history.
