
Mavericks Head to Quad City for Exhibition Games

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, in conjunction with the Quad City Mallards, announced Monday the Mallards will host a pre-season Ice Breaker on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 at i wireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The Ice Breaker will feature the Mallards, Mavericks, Bloomington Blaze and Evansville IceMen. The Mavericks will take on the Blaze at 7 p.m. on Saturday and the Mallards at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
"We are thankful the Mallards and CLUB 9 Sports are hosting this event," said Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen. "This will be a great opportunity for our players to showcase their skills and compete for a spot on the Mavericks' roster."
October 15 will see a battle between the Mallards and the IceMen at 4:00 p.m. to kick-off a double header that will conclude with the Mavericks and Blaze meeting at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, action will start at 10:00 a.m. with a special competitive practice session featuring the Mallards and Mavericks. At 1:00 p.m., Quad City will take on Missouri in the final game of the weekend.
"The Mallards are excited to host something unique and a little different to get the fans primed for the start of the season. This will be an opportunity to see four CHL teams at a time when players are fighting for final roster spots, teams are making tough roster decisions and competition will be at its highest level," said Byron Rucker, senior consultant for CLUB 9 SPORTS, the Mallards' ownership group. "We are thankful to the Blaze, IceMen and Mavericks for agreeing to be a part of this new and unique event. It should be fun for our fans to see the Mallards in a competitive situation at the i wireless Center."
Ice Breaker tickets will be available to the general public at the door for $5 per day.
