
City of Salem and Red Sox to Host USA National Softball Team on June 29

SALEM, VA - The Salem Red Sox will host the United States Women's National Softball Team on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at LewisGale Field. Salem is one of only three cities in the country that will host exhibitions for the National Team before the squad competes in international events. A post-game autograph session will follow the conclusion of game two at adjacent Salem Football Stadium for all fans with a ticket stub.
"It's an honor to host our National Team at LewisGale Field," said Salem Red Sox general manager Todd Stephenson. "It'll be another great sporting event held in Virginia's championship city."
The National Team will play an exhibition doubleheader against the U.S.A. Junior Women's National Team starting at 6PM (4PM gates). Each game will last 7-innings and game two of the double header will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Tickets can be purchased at the Salem Red Sox offices, by calling (540) 389-3333 or online. Although tickets can be purchased at the gates, fans will receive a $5 discount on any pre-purchased ticket. This is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds on tickets. Ticket prices are as follows:
