Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks avoided falling under Dakota's spell as the BayHawks used a big fourth quarter to slide past the Wizards 98-83 Monday night at Tullio Arena. Seven BayHawks finished the game in double figures.

The first frame was neck-and-neck as Dakota outscored Erie 22-21, but the BayHawks used a 33-18 second quarter to take charge and enter halftime 54-40. Cleveland Cavaliers assignee Samardo Samuels put up nine points to lead the charge.

The third quarter belonged to Dakota as the visitors cut the lead to three points on Vernon Hamilton's floating jumper with 2.9 seconds to go in the frame. But it was all Erie in the fourth as the BayHawks opened the quarter with a 13-2 run and never looked back.

Dawan Robinson was tops for Erie (8-5) with 15 points, three BayHawks dropped in 14, Ivan Johnson, Christian Eyenga, and Tasmin Mitchell, Samuels chipped in 12 in his D-League debut, Cedric Jackson added 11, and Jeff Adrien added 10.

The Wizards (4-10) were led by DeMarre Carroll who had 20 points, Chris Johnson added 16, and Renaldo Major and Hamilton both chipped in 14 a piece.

The same two teams square off again in the second game of the double-dip on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at Tullio Arena.
