Eagles Fan Helps Pick Penner's Mask

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today that Grant Vander Hamm has been chosen as the winner of the team's "Pick Penner's Mask Project," in which fans were asked to help decide the design of Andrew Penner's goalie mask for the upcoming season.

Fans were able to pick from three pre-determined design concepts and submit their vote via a form found on the team's Web site and local Wendy's tray liners. Of the participants who chose the design with the most votes -- the Dragon Keeper design -- one was randomly chosen as the winner.

Vander Hamm, a seven-year old from Johnstown, Colo. was selected, and will receive two tickets to the Eagles' game against the Odessa Jackalopes on Oct. 9, along with an autographed photo of himself with Penner and the mask and a post-game tour of the locker room where he'll be able to meet the entire team.

"I'd like to thank all the Eagles fans that voted and helped me choose the design of my goalie mask for the 2010-11 season," said Penner. "The Dragon Keeper design was my favorite as well and I can't wait to see it completed. It'll be great to be able to share the experience with Grant and I look forward to meeting him and thanking him myself."

The puck drops on the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 9 when the Eagles take on the Odessa Jackalopes in a preseason game at the Budweiser Events Center (BEC); the regular season begins on Friday, Oct. 15.
