Reading Fightin Phils News Release

(Reading, PA) - The Reading Phillies are pleased to announce that all fans interested in owning a piece of Reading Phillies history can do so on Saturday, October 2 during the first-ever R-Phils Yard Sale.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., fans can enter through the Deck Gate Entrance behind the Deck in Left Field at FirstEnergy Stadium (adjacent to the large grass parking area next to Citizens Bank) and purchase great collectible items at bargain prices.

"Fans can get anything from clubhouse equipment to the original stadium bricks from the 1950's," said Hillbilly Hoff, the R-Phils director of yard sales. "I have some great items at great prices. Everything must go."

For five hours (7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.), fans can come out to America's Classic Ballpark and search through many items, and walk home with their favorite. FirstEnergy Stadium, which was completed in 1951, has compiled many great memories and collectibles through the years, and now fans can take home a piece of history.

The big seller of the yard sale might be the stadium bricks, which are the original ones from when the stadium was built. Other great R-Phils memorabilia, which will be available during Hillbilly Hoff's yard sale, include giveaways from previous seasons, clubhouse items, office furniture, and much more.

"This is the first time we have ever held a yard sale," said R-Phils GM Scott Hunsicker. "With the renovations in full-swing, we found so many great items we thought our fans would like to own. Who wouldn't want to own a 60-year-old brick from America's Classic Ballpark?"

The Reading Phillies will open the 2011 season at the newly-remodeled FirstEnergy Stadium on Thursday, April 14 for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Akron Aeros. Fans interested in renewing their season tickets and mini-plans, can do so now by visiting readingphillies.com, or by calling 610-375-8469.

Directions:

Route 12 to the 61 South Exit.

Turn right at the light onto Cathedral Street (at Citizens Bank).

Left Field Deck entrance gate will be on your LEFT adjacent to the large grass parking area
