
Kessel Commits to Western Michigan

(Green Bay, WI) -) The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that forward Will Kessel has committed to the Western Michigan University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Kessel is scheduled to arrive at Western Michigan in the fall of 2011.
Kessel enters his second year with the Gamblers after an impressive rookie campaign in 2009-10. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native appeared in 52 games for Clark Cup champion Gamblers collecting 10 goals, eight assists and a +10 plus/minus rating. Kessel also appeared in 12 Clark Cup playoff games, chipping in with a goal and three assists.
Kessel becomes the 11th Gambler off the 2010-11 squad to commit to a NCAA Division I institution or sign a professional contract. Others include forwards Austin Czarnik (Miami of Ohio), Ludwig Karlsson (Northeastern), J.P. LaFontaine (Minnesota State-Mankato), defensemen Aaron Harstad (Colorado College), Max Hartner (Air Force), Brian O'Rourke (Nebraska-Omaha), Andy Welinski (Minnesota-Duluth) and goaltender Adam Wilcox (Minnesota).
