Burlington, IA (August 23, 2010) - Jose Bonilla belted a go-ahead home run in the fifth inning, but bullpen struggles again reared their head in a 6-4 loss to Beloit on Monday night at Community Field.

Bonilla's big fly came with two outs in the fifth and the game knotted at three apiece. The shot was the backstop's fourth of the year and third in the month of August. It came as part of a 3-for-3 evening that saw him notch a pair of singles and draw a walk as well. The RBI on the home run was his second after knocking one in with a base hit in the third.

Sugar Ray Marimon allowed three runs on four hits in five innings before giving way to Scott Kelley, who hurled a pair of shutout frames to get his team through the seventh with the lead intact. Ryan Wood took the mound for the eighth, however, and encountered trouble from the get-go. After plunking leadoff hitter Lance Ray and allowing a hit to Josmil Pinto, Wood (L, 0-1) rallied for a pair of outs, one of which brought home the tying run, before the third proved elusive. Reggie Williams and James Beresford laced back-to-back doubles to hand Beloit the 6-4 advantage that would hold up as the final.

Bonilla's night was not the only offensive highlight for the Bees. Fernando Cruz picked up a pair of hits as well, and Alex McClure paced the squad with three stolen bases, a new Bees season high.

The Bees take on Beloit again in the series finale on Tuesday night as part of the season's final Hawk Eye Two-for-Tuesday. Clip the coupon out of Tuesday's edition of The Hawk Eye and redeem it at the Community Field box office to pick up two general admission tickets for the price of one.
