Omaha Lancers Release 2010-2011 Regular Season Schedule

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce their regular season schedule for the 2010-2011 season. Celebrating their 25th anniversary season, the Lancers begin the 60-game campaign on Friday, October 1st against the expansion Dubuque Fighting Saints at 7:05 PM at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Omaha's regular season finale then comes Saturday, April 9th at the Sioux Falls Stampede.
Notable home games this season include a rematch of last year's West Division Finals against the Fargo Force (October 29), a Thanksgiving Day contest against Sioux Falls (November 25) and the second annual "Hockey Night in Omaha" (February 12) when the Lancers host the Tri-City Storm at 4:05 PM before the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks welcome the University of Wisconsin Badgers to the Qwest Center at 7:05 PM.
With the addition of two new member teams for the 2010-2011 season (Dubuque and the Muskegon Lumberjacks), the USHL has expanded to two conferences (Eastern Conference and Western Conference) for the coming year. The revamped conference alignment can be found below.

Omaha will play eight games each against Fargo, Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls and Tri-City while it will only play two games apiece against Des Moines, Dubuque and all eight teams in the Eastern Conference.
The top six teams in each Conference will qualify for the Clark Cup Playoffs. The first and second place teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences will earn a first-round playoff bye as the remaining four teams in each Conference will vie for the two remaining spots in the second round. The winner of each playoff race in the respective conferences will meet in a best-of-five final series for the Clark Cup.
