Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday, July 31. The game is presented by Purolator and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at McMahon Stadium (local blackout in effect).
The Stampeders enter Week 5 in first place in the West Division after a 40-20 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders at McMahon Stadium last Saturday. The Blue Bombers evened their record at 2-2 last week with a 47-21 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos in Winnipeg.
After hosting a sell-out crowd of 35,650 at McMahon Stadium for last week's victory, the Stamps will now hold Family Day at McMahon this weekend with plenty of fun and activity for all.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the game as the Stamps and SportChek host Family Fest in the East parking lot from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The free, all-ages event includes throwing, catching and footwork games, with coaching tips and encouragement from former Stampeders players. There will also be temporary tattoos, balloons and chances to win great prizes.
The Stamps will host the Purolator Tackle Hunger program at McMahon this weekend and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to the game and drop them off to the Purolator and Food Bank volunteers, as well as wives and girlfriends of Stampeders coaches and players stationed at the stadium gates. In return, fans will have the opportunity to win an autographed Henry Burris jersey, receive a souvenir photo with the Grey Cup and enter a draw to win two tickets to the 2010 Grey Cup in Edmonton.
At halftime, participants from the Little Miss Outrider clinic will dance with members of the Calgary Stampeder Outriders. Girls aged 3-16 will perform a routine learned during two rehearsals held this week. Fans interested in registering for Little Miss Outrider can contact the Stampeders' Ticket Office (403-289-0258 or toll free at 1-800-667-3267).
Tickets for the game are still available by contacting the Stampeders' Ticket Office, Ticketmaster (403-777-0000 or online at Ticketmaster.ca) or by visiting any local Safeway or SportChek location.
