Colorado Eagles News Release

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today that they have signed forward Brad MacMillan. The 5-foot-10-inch, 200-pound forward was a fan-favorite fighter in Fort Wayne the past two seasons where he won a pair of IHL championships with the Komets.

"Brad will bring a lot of energy to the rink and has a proven track record of not backing down from anyone," said Assistant Coach Greg Pankewicz. "His character and championship pedigree will be a great addition to our locker room, and I'm looking forward to bringing out what we feel is some untapped offensive potential."

The Grand Prairie, Alberta native has played 156 professional games (by CHL standards) split between parts of two season each in the UHL (with the Missouri River Otters in 2004-05 & 2005-06) and the IHL (with the Komets in 2008-09 & 2009-10). Sandwiched between his time in those two leagues, MacMillan spent a fistful of games in the rough-and-tumble LNAH of Quebec in 2006-07.

For his pro career, the right winger has tallied 32 points (22-10-32) and 722 PIMs. He has accumulated at least 230 penalty minutes in each of his past three full seasons, leading Fort Wayne in the category in each of the past two. Prior to turning pro, MacMillan spent one season with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (NAHL) where he was a teammate of fellow offseason-signee Chris Hau.

The puck drops on the 2010-11 hockey season on Friday, Oct. 15. The Eagles will open their eighth season at home against an undetermined opponent; the complete league schedule should be released shortly.
