The Hudson Valley Renegades evened their home record at 7-7 tonight, defeating the Connecticut Tigers, 10-2, in front of 3,831 at Dutchess Stadium.

The Renegades scored in their first four at-bats, and led 7-1 heading into the fifth inning. In the first inning, Hudson Valley third baseman Nick Schwaner became the seventh New York-Penn League player to reach 20 RBI this season, driving in Steve Tinoco (3-for-4, 3 RBI), and later stole his team-high eighth base of the year. The next batter, Phil Wunderlich (2-for-4, 2 R, 2RBI), hit his second home run of the week, making the score 3-0.

In the second, Renegades designated hitter Kyle Holloway (2-for-3) doubled in Elias Otero, and Tinoco doubled in Dietrich to increase the lead to 5-0. Hudson Valley pushed across a run in both the third and fourth innings to bring the score to 7-0.

Renegades hurler Jake Thompson (ND,4 SO, 0BB) continued his team's excellent starting pitching, allowing just one unearned run in four innings of work. Over their last four games, Renegades starters have allowed just 2 earned runs over 21.1 innings (0.84 ERA).

Adam Liberatore (W, 1-0) earned his first professional win with a pair of scoreless, one-hit innings. Robert Dickmann earned his first career save with three strong innings out of the bullpen.

The Renegades play the second game of their series against the Tigers tomorrow night with the first pitch slated for 5:05pm. The Renegades will give the ball to righty Miguel Sierra (2-1, 4.97) and the Tigers will counter with right-hander Josue Carreno (1-3, 5.06)
