Calgary Stampeders News Release
Calgary Stampeders offensive lineman Matt Sheridan has announced his retirement from football.
"Matt has decided to retire, return to his home in Winnipeg and work diligently towards the goal of getting in better condition which would allow him to return to the game sometime in the future," said Stamps head coach/general manager John Hufnagel.
Sheridan signed with Calgary on Apr. 29, 2010. He was originally drafted by Winnipeg in the sixth round (40th overall) of the 2000 CFL Draft. He spent eight seasons with the Blue Bombers and was twice named Winnipeg's most outstanding offensive lineman. He was out of football in 2009.
