The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Monarchs, will host this year's tournament with proceeds from the event earmarked for the Level 2 Special Care Nursery at Catholic Medical Center and the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation.
The Ace Bailey Golf Classic is held annually to honor the memory of Garnet "Ace" Bailey, who served as the Kings Director of Pro Scouting until his death on September 11, 2001. Bailey was a passenger aboard United Flight 175 and was lost in the tragic events of that day.
"It is an honor for the Monarchs Care Foundation to host this annual event in memory of Ace," said Darren Abbott, President of the Monarchs. "Ace was a special part of the Los Angeles Kings' organization and the hockey community. His joy and fun-loving spirit touched everyone he met. The tournament has raised $302,500 over the last eight years and we plan on continuing to raise money in Ace's memory as we celebrate his life and his love for children."
Registration for this year's tournament is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14 with a shotgun start slated for 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided for those competing in the tournament with an awards dinner as well as both a live and silent auction to follow the action on the course. WMUR Channel 9 Sports personality Jamie Staton will host the dinner. The auctions will feature sports memorabilia from some of the biggest names in sports. A fifth celebrity player will accompany each foursome on the course.
Limited space remains for additional foursomes.
