Pawsox Lose Tuesday Night 8-5

The PawSox lost on Tuesday night in Durham 8-5. The offense struggled mightily on this 8 game road trip. In the last 7 games, Pawtucket has managed a total of just 12 runs. On the swing through Norfolk and Durham, the PawSox went 2-6. Lars Anderson nailed a solo home run, his third as a Pawtucket player. It carried deep into the right field bleachers. In the fourth, Daniel Nava doubled and scored on a grounder by Aaron Bates. Nava had two of the PawSox' 7 hits. In the ninth, the Sox scored twice on bases loaded walks, issued by Dale Thayer. Mike Ekstrom came in with one out and the bases loaded to face Angel Sanchez. Sanchez grounded out to score a run. Ekstrom whiffed Nava to end the game.

Michael Bowden went toe to toe with lefty Heath Phillips, pitching into the fifth, allowing just 2 runs. Bowden scattered 4 hits. Fabio Castro (2-4) was the loser, giving up 6 runs in 2.1 innings.

The PawSox are off on Wednesday before resuming play on Thursday at McCoy Stadium. Game time against the Norfolk Tides is 7:05 p.m. Lefty Chris George (1-1, 4.22) is scheduled to face Boof Bonser (0-2, 10.61).
