Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, will celebrate their 2010 Kelly Cup championship with the City in a special event downtown tomorrow afternoon (May 23).
The Cyclones will take center stage on Fountain Square at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. The players and staff will be introduced to the crowd and participate in an autograph session. The Kelly Cup will be on display for fans to photograph and special championship merchandise will be available for purchase. The special 90 minute program will conclude with a live auction of the Cyclones game worn jerseys at the event.
The Cyclones captured their second Kelly Cup championship in three seasons on Friday night (May 21) in a 2-1 win over Idaho at U.S. Bank Arena. Cincinnati's run to the championship started with a best of five series triumph over defending league champion South Carolina. That was followed with a seven game series upset of American Conference regular season winner Charlotte. In the conference finals, the Cyclones rallied from an 0-3 deficit in the series to win and advance to play Idaho. Cincinnati knocked off the Brabham Cup (regular season best record) winners in five games.
Tickets for the 2010-11 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The latest news and information on the Cyclones can be obtained by going to their website at www.cycloneshockey.com.
