Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif." The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, and the ECHL today unveiled the logo for the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic, which will come to Bakersfield on Jan. 26, 2011.
The logo features a condor, with its wings partially spread, perched atop the iconic Bakersfield sign, saved by Buck Owens, and displayed above the boulevard bearing his name. The words "2011 ECHL All-Star Classic" are built within it. Stars adorn both the sign and are mixed in with the text, and the logo was constructed using the Condors maroon, cool grey, black and tan color combination. The logo was designed by The Joe Bosack Graphic Design Company in conjunction with the ECHL and Condors offices.
"It was important for us to intertwine the Condors, the community, and the event itself when developing this logo," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "The condor and the sign are two images that this town is known for, inside and outside of our own community. This is the first exciting step in putting this whole event together for our fans."
"We are proud to bring our annual showcase event to Bakersfield," said ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna, "and look forward to a unique experience as the Condors, the City and Rabobank Arena host their first hockey All-Star Classic."
The Condorstown faithful got a sneak preview of this logo back on Friday, Apr. 16 during Game 1 of the National Conference Semifinals against the Stockton Thunder. During the first intermission of the game at Rabobank Arena, Mayor Harvey Hall was present for the unofficial unveiling on the video board.
The logo will be utilized prominently by the Condors in their marketing campaigns for the 2010-11 season, and the Condors will wear All-Star Game patches on their game jerseys for the entire season. An alternate All-Star logo will also be unveiled at a later date, along with further information regarding the game and event, host sponsors, and other details. This is the first hockey all-star game to be hosted by the city of Bakersfield.
About the Game:
