Ottawa 67's News Release
Last night marked the end of an incredible and exciting comeback season for our Ottawa 67's with a 5-3 loss to the Mississauaga St. Mike's Majors. After catapulting themselves from the basement at the beginning of the season to winning their division (and almost making it to the conference final!), the 67's have nothing to hang their head about this season.
Last night, the Majors jumped out with an early lead in the first period and even though our boys fought back, they just couldn't manage to even up the score. Despite the loss, both teams played a well fought game, making it a great way to finish off a season.
There was lots of fun to be had last night as the game started off with a puck drop by founder of Jubilee Fine Jewelers, Moe Charania and the winner of a 25 hundred dollar diamond that we gave away earlier this season, Ms. Doris Renaud. The fun continued in the first intermission pitted two teams against each other in an equipment relay whereby contestants had to suit up in hockey gear then shoot on the net. Everybody came out a winner, especially the crowd who cheered on our contestants. The second intermission featured another giant slingshot that sent three very brave young fans flying across the ice.
The Ottawa 67's would like to thank all of our amazing fans for all your support this season. Despite a tough loss last night, the 67's are still our favourite team OHL, and that's thanks in no small part to the GREATEST FANS IN HOCKEY! Have a great summer and we'll see you in the fall where we'll be writing from In the Stands.
