
Toronto FC Signs Latvian Defender

Toronto FC announced Saturday the signing of defender Raivis Hscanovics. Per team and league rules, financial details were not released.
"Raivis is a good, young defender that we hope to have with us for some time," said manager, director of soccer Mo Johnston. "Despite his youth he brings some good experience with him from playing in some challenging leagues in Europe."
Hscanovics, 23, has spent the last three seasons with FC Skonto in Latvia making a total of 39 appearances.
The defender has received the proper paper work is now available for selection in today's game against the New England Revolution. The game will be broadcast on GOLTV, and can be heard on The FAN 590. Kickoff for tonight's match at Gillette Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
