Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks forward Derek Arnold will present a check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Black Hawk County Saturday April 3rd from funds raised by his "Arnie's Army" fan section.

The presentation will be at the second intermission during the Black Hawks' final game of the regular season against Team USA at Young Arena. Arnie's Army raised over $1,600 since November from sales of camouflage wrist bands and hardhats bearing the Arnie's Army logo. Those items, sold during Black Hawks games, were donated by the team, with all funds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs.

"The Boys and Girls Club is devoted to building character and providing opportunities to young people in our communities," said BGCBHC Executive Director Chuck Rowe. "Derek has set a great example for our young people, and we're excited to have been part of his vision."

Rowe will join Arnold for Saturday's presentation, along with BGCBHC Board President Jason Witham and members of the Boys and Girls Club.

Arnold is a second-year Black Hawk forward and an Assistant Captain of the team. He is currently Waterloo's fourth-leading scorer and enjoying his second 20-goal season as a Black Hawk.

The Boys and Girls Club of Black Hawk County will also be selling tickets for their 2010 Harley Party fundraiser Saturday night during the game. The $25 tickets include dinner during the April 23rd event, which will feature live music and the opportunity for everyone in attendance to win a brand-new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
