Revolution Sign Former VA Tech Hokies Vince Hall And Josh Hyman

March 25, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL) Richmond Revolution

RICHMOND, VA.: SportsQuest and the Richmond Revolution announced today that they have signed former Virginia Tech Hokies LB Vince Hall and WR Josh Hyman to contracts for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Vince Hall joins the Revolution following an award winning career at Virginia Tech. Hall finished his collegiate career with 404 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks while starting 44 games in row. His best season was 2006, while a redshirt junior, when he made 128 tackles, 10.5 for loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 8 quarterback hurries. He finished the season as a First-Team All-ACC selection and won the Dudley Award for the best Division 1 football player in Virginia. Hall is the third Revolution player, along with Quarterbacks Rodney Landers and Bryan Randall, to win the award.

Throughout Hall's four seasons on the team the Hokies finished with at least 10 wins each season, going 42-11, winning the 2006 Gator Bowl against Louisville. Hall played all four of his seasons beside LB Xavier Adibi, now with the Houston Texans. The two combined to lead Virginia Tech to the nation's best top ranked defense in back-to-back seasons, in 2005 and 2006, while finishing fourth in 2004 and 2007. Hall's senior season saw him break his wrist, causing him to miss the first 4 games of his career, yet he was still able to put up 100 tackles, 6.5 for loss, 3.5 sacks and his third career interception.

Revolution also sign former Tech WR Josh Hyman

Hall is being joined on the Revolution roster by former Virginia Tech WR Josh Hyman. Hyman played for the Hokies during the same four year period, 2004-2007, that Vince Hall did. Hyman's freshman season in 2004 was his best statistically, and coincided with Revolution quarterback Bryan Randall's senior season. During the 2004 season Hyman was the leading receiver with 491 yards and led the team in receiving touchdowns with 5. Over the course of his career at Virginia Tech, Hyman compiled 82 receptions for 1,142 yards and 6 touchdowns. Hyman ranks 15th all-time at Virginia Tech in career receptions, and 19th in yards.

"We are thrilled to be able to add such high caliber players from Virginia Tech to our team this year. Adding Vince and Josh to our roster is only going to make us better", said Revolution Head Coach Steve Criswell. "Both of these guys have indoor experience, and Vince spent time with 2 different NFL teams, we are very excited."

SportsQuest's Richmond Revolution is a proud member of the Indoor Football League. SportsQuest will be hosting a Football Speed and Power Camp, conducted by former NFL Pro-Bowlers Willie Henderson, Ahman Green and Vonnie Holliday, from April 5th through the 7th. The Revolution have a bye week this week, followed by a road trip to Rochester. They return home to face the West Michigan Thunderhawks on April 10th. SportsQuest will also be hosting the US Olympic Speed Skating team's Hall of Fame Banquet on May 1st.
