Suns Promotional Schedule Released For 2010 Season

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Jacksonville Suns announced the team's 2010 promotional schedule, including a mix of great giveaways and fan-favorite entertainment.

The Suns return to the field as defending Southern League Champions and share the excitement of big-time baseball with fans to kick off the 2010 season. The Suns host the Florida Marlins in a special Major League Baseball exhibition event on Friday, April 2, at 7:05. The celebration continues throughout the season, including a commemorative replica ring giveaway (April 8), a championship wall calendar giveaway (April 10) and a championship ring remote control holder (August 6), to name a few.

This season, the Suns will feature an ongoing series honoring Jacksonville's hometown heroes, beginning April 11 with former Major League catcher and Jacksonville native Rick Wilkins. Former Jacksonville Brave Shorty Long (May 1), retiring UNF Baseball Coach Dusty Rhodes (July 10) will also be honored and college football great Tim Tebow may be featured in the Hometown Heroes series this season.

The Suns' traditional weekly promotions return for the 2010 season, including Fifty Cent Family Feast Tuesdays, Businessperson's Specials on Wednesday afternoons, the ever-popular Thursday Night Throwdown, Friday Family Fireworks, and postgame Kids Run the Bases on Sundays. Following the success of the 2009 season, Monday evening games are Belly Buster Mondays, and Tuesdays mark the return of KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Ticket games.

The Jacksonville Suns are the Double-A Affiliate of the Florida Marlins and are proud members of the Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs. The Suns begin the season with a Major League exhibition against the Florida Marlins on Friday, April 2, followed by the regular-season opener on Thursday, April 8.
