(Windsor) Goaltender Philipp Grubauer is the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week as selected by the Spitfires coaching staff for the week ending Sunday, March 20th, 2010. He posted a 1.50 goals against average and.942 save percentage in two playoff starts for Windsor. His goals against average is currently tied for first overall amongst OHL netminders and he is also ranked second in the league in save percentage. Grubauer has earned his second Windsor Spitfire Player of the Week in the past three weeks; he also received the award for the week ending March 7th, 2010.
On Thursday, Grubauer was solid in goal for the Spitfires, stopping 19 of 21 shots that he faced as the Spitfires defeated the Erie Otters 6-2 in game one of the series at the WFCU Centre. On Sunday, he stopped 30 of 31 shots faced and made several spectacular saves in the Spitfires' 3-1 game two victory over the Otters in Erie.
Grubauer, an 18 year-old native of Rosenheim, Germany, is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
