San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers, Class A Partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, are excited to present Sam Farber as the new voice of 66ers baseball, and Kevin Shaw as the new Vice President of Marketing. Farber will replace former 66ers Director of Broadcasting Mike Saeger who is being promoted in the Elmore family of baseball teams to the San Antonio Missions, "AA" Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, after 15 years in the Inland Empire."I could not be more excited to join the 66ers front office, and to have the opportunity to speak to the fantastic fans of the Inland Empire," said Farber. "This is an ideal place to be a broadcaster. The fans are dedicated, the team has a history of success, and with the Dodgers being just a few miles up the road, we're going to have a lot of great players coming over to rehab. I can't wait to get on the air for opening day."
Farber spent last season with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, "AAA" Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies and another Elmore owned team, alongside Dan Karcher. He has also called games for Cal State Northridge, the University of Southern California, Santa Clara University, The George Washington University and the Bowie Baysox of the Eastern League.
Farber's first broadcast for the 66ers will be April 8th when the team opens the season at Rancho Cucamonga. All 140 games of the 2010 season can be heard on 1050 KCAA.
Farber is not the only broadcaster joining the 66ers staff. The new Vice President of Marketing, Kevin Shaw, has also spent some time on the air, but his new position brings his considerable marketing and California League experience to the Inland Empire.
"I'm excited to be a part of the new staff assembled here with the 66ers," said Shaw. "I look forward to helping create a one of a kind venue for businesses to have their messages heard by the 200,000 plus fans that come to Arrowhead Credit Union Park every year. Our brand new state of the art video board is going to make 66ers games the place to be for entertainment if you're a fan, and the place to go to promote your business in the Inland Empire."
Shaw made the move to the 66ers by taking the short drive down I-10 from the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes where he spent three seasons, the last two as Director of Marketing.
Individual 66ers tickets for all 70 home games in 2010 are available now online where purchasing tickets is more affordable than ever before. Fans can save over 60 percent off last year's web purchasing fees, and new in 2010, printing at home is absolutely free.
