Blue Crabs Fan Fest Is April 10

The Blue Crabs have announced plans for their annual season-opening Fan Fest celebration at the ballpark, scheduled for Saturday, April 10. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year's event will also kick off spring training, which the Blue Crabs have shifted to Regency Furniture Stadium from Florida. Fan Fest is completely FREE for everyone.
The box office at the ballpark will be open throughout the event, as April 10 will be the first day single-game tickets for all 70 Blue Crabs home games this season will be on sale. Season ticket and mini-plan holders can also get their hands on their ticket packages for the first time that day. Chick-fil-A Backfin Buddies members and Hearing Professionals Silver Sluggers members will also be able to pick up their ticket plans and merchandise at Fan Fest.
Season ticket and mini-plan holders may also pick up their free tickets to the Blue Crabs -U.S. Military All-Stars exhibition game on Friday, April 16 at 6:35 p.m. Free tickets to that game may ONLY be picked up at Fan Fest. Backfin Buddies packages, Legends Club memberships, and Silver Slugger Memberships will also be on sale.
Always an event for the kids, this year's Fan Fest will be no exception. With the help of Entertainment Avenue ( www.entertainmentavenue.net) it will be a carnival atmosphere, with several attractions for kids in addition to the already popular bumper boats in Crabby Cove and the inflatables in the PNC Bank Kids Zone playground. Kids will be able to play on interactive obstacle courses, giant slides, basketball and football games and a giant inflatable pirate ship in addition to other inflatable attractions. The folks from Chick-fil-A will also be on hand with free games, with delicious Chick-fil-A food as prizes.
"This has to be the most exciting time of the year, nothing beats the anticipation of a new season," said Blue Crabs Marketing Manager Courtney Freeland. "Fan Fest always signals the official beginning of spring for us, and we'll have a great kickoff to the season at the stadium just three weeks before the Blue Crabs take the field here for the first time."
Throughout Fan Fest, there will also be live music in addition to ticket sales and the attractions set up around the stadium. Concessions will be available throughout the day. The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and play at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. The 2010 season is presented by the Civista Health Foundation. The franchise is entering its third season in the spring of 2010, coming off the team's first playoff appearance and Liberty Division Title in 2009.
