
Shorebirds Announce 2010 National Acts & Theme Nights

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to announce their 2010 National Acts and Theme Night schedule for their upcoming 15th Anniversary Season.
Kicking off the 15th Anniversary Season, the Shorebirds will be holding an Opening Night Bash in the Executive Club on Friday, April 16th. Along with the two hour buffet, patrons of the Bash will receive a one of a kind 15th Anniversary T-Shirt. April continues on with the first of three Field of Dreams Day on Wednesday, April 21st with a special 10:35 AM start time, which will highlight education and baseball; College Night on Thursday, April 22nd, and on Friday, April 23rd, the Shorebirds will welcome back to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, the Crown Prince of Baseball, Myron Noodleman. Noodleman, the resident "nerd", as he describes himself will be performing in-between innings with players, umpires, and fans alike; dancing in the aisles, on the field or the dugout. Noodleman will be at his outrageous best, with off-the-cuff impromptu interactions with young and old fans alike.
As the month of May begins, the Shorebirds will begin with the second Field of Dreams Day on Tuesday, May 4; a Cinco De Mayo Celebration along with our Worcester County Night on Wednesday, May 5th and Athletic Achievement Night, which will honor local champion sports teams around the Peninsula, on Thursday, May 6th. On Sunday, May 9th, the Shorebirds will hold our Pretty in Pink Day, which will honor all mothers in attendance. Our final Field of Dreams Day will be on Monday, May 10th with the special 10:35AM start time.
As part of Sherman's Birthday Party on Friday, May 21st, the Shorebirds will have Reggy, the Purple Party Dude, courtesy of Sherwood of Salisbury, entertain the crowd as part of our Hit the Books Night V. Reggy, the official spokes character of the Mascot Hall of Fame will take over Arthur W. Perdue Stadium with his off the wall antics during the Shorebirds game, versus the Hagerstown Suns. Reggy, who is one of the only talking mascots in the business, says; "If having fun is a crime, than lock me up and throw away the key." The Shorebirds will conclude the month of May with Little League Day on Sunday, May 23rd.
Pets in the Park, presented by Invisible Fence returns to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Sunday, June 6th; on this day fans are encouraged to bring their pets to the ballpark to enjoy the game with them. The Shorebirds will hold their second My County Night on Wednesday, June 16th, highlighting the Eastern Sussex area, followed by Police, Fire & Emergency Night on Thursday, June 17th, which will honor the men and women who keep the Peninsula safe. The Shorebirds will also honor our soldiers around the world on Saturday, June 19th with our Support Our Troops Night.
On Sunday, June 20th, the Shorebirds will host a Father's Day BBQ Grill in the Picnic Deck. This day will be highlighted with gifts given away in-between innings that only Dad would love. The Shorebirds will look to then salute the mystery meat that everyone loves, with our Salute to Scrapple Night on Thursday, June 24th. To finish off the month of June, along with the support of Mountaire Farms, the Shorebirds will hold Faith & Family Night on Saturday, June 26th with a special 6:35PM start time. The Shorebirds will also hold their annual Crabfeast on Sunday, June 27th.
July starts off with a bang, as the Shorebirds will have a July 4th Celebration and our Independence Day Bash on Sunday, July 4th. Come help the Shorebirds celebrate America's birthday, with our hour and half buffet in the Hardball Caf. On Wednesday, July 7, the Shorebirds will have their final 10:35 AM start of the year with Catch a Matinee with Your Shorebirds. My County Night III will take place on Wednesday, July 14th, highlighting the communities of Western Sussex County. The Shorebirds will then take to the beach on Saturday, July 17th, with our Luau Night, which will feature a Hawaiian themed Pig Roast, in our Hardball Cafe. Concluding the weekend on Sunday, July 18th will be our Agriculture Day. The huge cartoon character hit from Nickelodeon, Spongebob Squarepants, presented by Comcast Spotlight, will be making an appearance on Sunday, July 25th. Spongebob will be in attendance to have a meet and greet with fans before the game as well as pictures during the game versus the Lakewood BlueClaws.
As the calendar turns into August and September, the Shorebirds will host Mountaire Family Night on Saturday, August 7th, My County Night IV on Wednesday, August 18th; and Child Advocacy Center Night on Friday, August 20th, highlighted by the Fernando Guerrero Boxing Bobble Gloves Giveaway courtesy of Eastern Shore Water. On Wednesday, September 1st, the final My County Night will highlight the communities of Wicomico County. The Shorebirds will then honor local educators with Teacher Appreciation Night on Thursday, September, 2nd as they get ready for another exciting school year. The Shorebirds will hold their 3rd Annual Rib Fest on Friday, September 3rd, in the Hardball Caf; and finally, to close out the year on Monday, September 7th, the Shorebirds will honor the fans, with our Fan Appreciation Day.
