Riversharks Name Bookmark Contest Winner

CAMDEN, NJ - The Camden Riversharks have announced the winner of their 7th annual Reading with the Riversharks program and bookmark contest, presented by PSE&G. The official 2010 bookmark was designed by 8th grader, Shari Bodofsky, of the Rosa International Middle School.
As part of the prize, the Riversharks' mascot, Finley, will make a special appearance at Rosa International Middle School for an assembly with all the students and staff. This in-school assembly will honor Shari for her winning bookmark design and promote the importance of reading to students.
Finley will also deliver a special prize pack to Shari, which includes an opportunity for her to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Riversharks "Reading Night" game on Friday, May 7th. Additionally, the Riversharks will feature Shari's design in the first edition of Sharkbites, the team's game day publication that is distributed to all fans who enter Campbell's Field.
Through the "Reading with the Riversharks" program, students are encouraged to read at least five books in addition to their already established school curriculum. Each student will be provided with a bookmark featuring Shari Bodofsky's design, and once they have read five books, they will receive a free ticket to the Riversharks' May 7th "Reading Night" game. With the help of PSE&G and the Camden Riversharks, over 30,000 students will receive the bookmark and participate in the program.
The Riversharks open their 10th Anniversary Season, presented by Wawa, on Thursday, April 22nd, on the road against the Newark Bears. The team will play their home opener at Campbell's Field against the Bears on April 30th, 2010, at 7:05 PM.
