
Windsor Spitfires To Host 'Help Wes Laporte' Night

Windsor, Ontario, March 9, 2010 - The Windsor Spitfires are asking the Windsor and Essex County community for their assistance in raising some much needed funds at "Help Wes Laporte Night" - an evening devoted to fundraising for the Wes Laporte Trust Fund Group which will be hosted at the Spitfires last regular season home game against the Plymouth Whalers this Thursday at the WFCU Centre. Game time is set for 7:05 pm.
Eighteen year old, Wes Laporte has spent most of the past three years in the hospital fighting for his life. He is currently being treated for leukemia and he struggles daily just to stay alive. Wes' parents and brother struggle right along with him. All proceeds raised on 'Help Wes Laporte Night' will be donated to the Wes Laporte Trust Fund Group to assist the Laportes in decreasing their outstanding medical bills.
Amazing raffle prizes, such as an autographed Windsor Spitfires jersey (donated by The Windsor Spitfires) and a framed and autographed Windsor Spitfires team photograph (donated by Mike Clement), an a enjoyable evening of hockey, and the support of Windsor and Essex County residents all for the sake of helping a local charity is sure to be an evening not to be missed. The Tecumseh Thunder Baseball Club is showing their support for this great cause by selling raffle tickets. Support bracelets for the Wes Laporte Trust Fund Group designed and produced by students at the Odette School of Business will also be available for purchase and a portion of the proceeds will go to help the Wes Laporte Trust Fund Group.
The gracious support and contributions from the Windsor Spitfires, Lacasse Printing, Tecumseh Thunder Baseball Club and the Odette School of Business have assisted 'Help Wes Laporte Night' come to life - can the Wes Laporte Trust Fund Group count on your support as well?
