
Former Ice D-Men Honored In College

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice announced today that defensemen Torey Krug (Michigan State) and Joe Hartman (Miami University) were both named to the 2009-10 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) All-Rookie Team.
Krug, who was the Ice's top-scoring defenseman on their 2009 Clark Cup Champion squad, led all CCHA freshmen defensemen in scoring with 16 points and tied for fifth among all league blueliners. Other seasonal accolades included one CCHA Rookie of the Week award, two CCHA Rookie of the Month honors and one National Rookie of the Month selection.
Hartman was an Assistant Captain on Indy's Clark Cup Champion club and finished second behind Krug in rookie defensemen scoring with ten points. He also tied for the CCHA league-lead with two shorthanded goals and compiled a (+18) plus/minus rating which was tops in the conference among league rookies.
The Ice has a three-game home stand starting this Wednesday (3/10) against the East Division-leading Green Bay Gamblers and continuing on Friday (3/12) and Saturday (3/13) versus the West Division-leading Omaha Lancers. All three contests are 7:05 pm face-offs from Pepsi Coliseum.
