
WXXI Television To Show Sneak Peek Of Documentary "Minor League" This Thursday At 8pm

The Rochester Red Wings and Campbell Media Group in association with WXXI public broadcasting today announced that a Sneak Peek television special of Minor League will air this Thursday, March 11 at 8 p.m. on WXXI -TV (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11). This reality based 13-episode series features the Rochester Red Wings and the little known world of minor league baseball in America.
Minor League, the 13-part series, will premiere in May, 2010.
The Minor League Sneak Peek special will give viewers a taste of what the series will be like. The series Producer, John Campbell, will be in WXXI's studio to discuss the project, as well as Red Wings President/CEO/COO Naomi Silver, General Manager Dan Mason and Director of Media Relations Chuck Hinkel.
Minor League follows the Red Wings through the entire 2009 season, starting with Spring Training in Ft. Myers, Florida.
They capture the team on the road, through 13 International League cities. The crew also follows members of the Red Wings to Portland, Oregon for the 2009 Triple-A All-Star Game and at home, life outside the ballpark, during their rare time off.
CBS News and 48 Hours Correspondent Erin Moriarty narrates the series. Multi-platinum recording artist, Eddie Money, contributed the theme song for Minor League.
The Red Wings open the 2010 season Thursday, April 8 with a 7:05 p.m. game at the Pawtucket Red Sox. The Red Wings will open their home schedule Saturday, April 17 with a 4:05 p.m. game vs. Pawtucket at Frontier Field. Opening Day at Frontier Field is just 39 days away.
