Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Waterloo Black Hawks are enjoying a season-best five game winning streak after defeating the Sioux City Musketeers 3-1 Saturday at Young Arena.
Waterloo went to work on offense midway through the opening period; Jacob MacDonald drove a shot from the left point into the net during a power play 10:16. Not quite five minutes later, Derek Arnold benefitted from a loose puck outside the crease, which he flipped just under the crossbar. In the second, the Hawks got their final goal when J.T. Brown redirected Zach Palmquist's long shot at 10:08.
Throughout the evening, C.J. Motte made a number of dazzling saves in the Black Hawk net. Motte stopped 28 shots on the night, allowing just a Danny Wurden goal at 7:33 of the third.
Waterloo hopes their success carries into the final weekend of February. The Black Hawks host the Fargo Force Friday and the Youngstown Phantoms next Saturday, both at 7:05.
