UPCOMING GAMES AND PROMOTIONS
Tuesday, February 16 - Columbus at Huntsville, 8:35 PM EST (Season Series vs. HSV: 1-4-1)
The Snakes make a Fat Tuesday trip to the Von Braun Center in Huntsville to take on the hometown Havoc. Huntsville is coming off a huge win on Sunday at home against Knoxville, a win that kept their name out of the SPHL history books for the dubious feat of most games without a win in league history. The Havoc had been on a nine-game winless skid prior to Sunday, including a 3-2 overtime loss in Columbus on February 6 in the Snakes' first win over Huntsville this season. The Havoc and Mississippi are deadlocked in a first-place tie in the SPHL standings with identical 22-10-8 records on the season, with the Surge playing two crucial games in Huntsville this Friday and Saturday.
Friday, February 19 - Columbus at Louisiana, 8:05 PM EST (Season Series vs. LOU: 1-2-0)
The Cottonmouths visit Acadiana for the first time in over three months on Friday night with a game against the Louisiana IceGators at Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette. In the only meeting between the two teams so far this season in Louisiana, the IceGators defeated Columbus 2-1, but due in large part to the goaltending of Jamie Gilbert, who now dons a Pensacola sweater instead of Louisiana. The IceGators have visited the Snake Pit twice since then, splitting the two games played in Columbus. The Snakes and `Gators will play each other three more times this season, crucial games from Louisiana's standpoint to keep their slim playoff chances alive and from a Columbus standpoint to pad their lead in the standings over the IceGators.
