Visalia Rawhide News Release
VISALIA-The Arizona Diamondbacks published their list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training last week, and over 60% of them have played for Visalia.
Pitchers Josh Ellis, Barry Enright, Kyler Newby, Wes Roemer, Bryan Shaw, and Tom Layne made the list, along with catchers Sean Coughlin and Konrad Schmidt, infielder Bryan Hallberg, and outfielders Evan Frey and Colin Cowgill.
In total, 11 of 17 non-roster invitees have played at Recreation Ballpark within the last two years.
"When we tell fans that they have the opportunity to see tomorrow's Major Leaguers today, we're not exaggerating," said Rawhide President Tom Seidler. "We wish all our alumni the best in their drive to make the big club, and we look forward to seeing a new crop of future stars here in Visalia come April."
The Rawhide's April 8th season opener at Recreation Ballpark is now less than two months away.
