
Gamblers Acquire USHL All Star

(Green Bay, WI) The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have acquired Lincoln Stars forward David Gerths in exchange for forward Sam Alfieri and an undisclosed draft pick.
Gerths, who was named to the USHL Western Division All Star team in 2009 and again in 2010, ranked fourth on the Stars in scoring with 16 points. The Ankeny, Iowa native was also a member of the 2008 and 2009 United States Select Team that captured back-to-back gold medals at the World Junior "A" Challenge. Gerths is committed to Notre Dame.
Gerths is expected to be in the line-up on Friday night when the Gamblers face off against the Tri City Storm at the Resch Center.
The Gamblers, who have won a franchise record 14 straight games, sit atop the USHL with a mark of 29-6-3.
