Calgary, AB - Jordan Eberle and the Regina Pats (22-24-3-1) host Quinton Howden and the Moose Jaw Warriors (25-17-4-3) to kick off the Trans-Canada Clash on Friday night.

Friday's contest between the Warriors and Pats can be seen LIVE throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct Channel 299 (7:00pm CT).

The Pats have been idle since picking up two wins over the Swift Current Broncos in a home-and-home series last weekend, and currently sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. The Pats find themselves seven points out of a playoff position in the Eastern Conference. The Pats' power play is operating at a League-best 31.0 per cent success rate on home ice this season.

The Warriors fell 4-3 in overtime in Saskatoon to the Blades on Wednesday night for their fourth straight setback, but remain in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Warriors are 8-11-2-1 on the road this season, and are 0-2-2-1 in their last five road games. Howden (21g-31a) leads the Warriors with 52 points.

It's the sixth meeting of the season between the Pats and Warriors. The Warriors are a perfect 5-0 versus the Pats this season after going 1-7 versus them last year. The teams will meet up again on Saturday in Moose Jaw.

Elsewhere on Friday, Joel Broda and the Calgary Hitmen (32-15-1-1) take on Scott Glennie and the Brandon Wheat Kings (34-16-0-3) for a battle between two of the Eastern Conference's top teams.

The Hitmen have been off since their 6-2 win over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday for their third straight victory, and currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Hitmen have scored 18 goals over their last three games, including 10 on the power play.

The Wheat Kings are coming off a 4-1 win in Lethbridge over the Hurricanes on Wednesday for their fourth straight victory, and currently share the East Division and Eastern Conference lead with Saskatoon. Glennie has racked up four goals and eight assists for 12 points over his last five games.

In Chilliwack, B.C., Kevin Sundher and the Chilliwack Bruins (23-24-1-5) host Linden Vey and the Medicine Hat Tigers (31-15-3-5) on Friday.

The Bruins are coming off a 4-1 loss to the visiting Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday for their second defeat in their last three outings, and currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference. The Bruins are 13-12-0-3 at home this season.

The Tigers are coming off two wins in Prince George over the Cougars on Tuesday and Wednesday, stretching their overall winning streak to five games, and currently sit in first place in the Central Division. Vey has scored six goals and 15 assists for 21 points on his current 10-game point streak.

In Edmonton, AB, Mark Pysyk and the Edmonton Oil Kings (10-30-4-7) host Justin Feser and the Tri-City Americans (36-12-0-2) on Friday.

The Oil Kings are coming off a 2-1 setback to the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday for their 14th consecutive loss. Edmonton has just three wins over their last 34 games since mid November.

The Americans are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss in Red Deer to the Rebels on Wednesday, having blown a 3-0 lead, for their second straight defeat, but remain comfortably in first place in the Western Conference. Feser scored twice in Wednesday's loss, giving him 25 goals on the season.

In Everett, WA, Byron Froese and the Everett Silvertips (31-16-2-1) put their 12-game winning streak on the line when they host Chris Francis and the Portland Winterhawks (30-19-1-1) on Friday.

The Silvertips have been idle since earning a 3-2 win over the visiting Spokane Chiefs last Sunday, stretching their winning streak to 12 games. Seven of the 'Tips' 12 wins on their current streak have been decided by one goal. Froese has netted the game-winning goal in four of the 'Tips' last 12 wins.

The Winterhawks are coming off a 3-1 win over the visiting Vancouver Giants last Sunday, thanks to a 51-save effort from goaltender Ian Curtis, and currently sit just two points back of the Silvertips for fourth place in the Western Conference. Francis (21g-37a) leads the Hawks in scoring with 58 points this season.

In Kamloops, B.C., Brendan Ranford and the Kamloops Blazers (24-23-2-3) host Craig Cunningham and the Vancouver Giants (29-19-1-2) for a B.C. Division battle.

The Blazers are coming off an 8-1 win over the visiting Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday night for their second win in three games, and currently sit one point back of Chilliwack for sixth place in the Western Conference. Ranford scored three goals in Tuesday's win, giving him a team-leading 21 goals on the season.

The Giants have been off since dropping a 3-1 decision in Portland to the Winterhawks on Sunday, despite outshooting the Hawks 52-39 in the contest. The Giants are 4-5 through nine games of their current 10-game road trip.

In Kelowna, B.C., Mitchell Callahan and the Kelowna Rockets (22-25-2-2) host Nick Buonassisi and the Prince George Cougars (9-39-1-1) on Friday.

The Rockets doubled up the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 on Wednesday night to record their third straight win, and now hold a comfortable 12-point lead over the T-Birds for eighth place in the Western Conference. The Rockets' power play ranks sixth among WHL teams, currently operating at a 24.5 per cent success rate.

The Cougars are coming off back-to-back losses to the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday and Wednesday, stretching their losing skid to 11 games. The Cougars are 3-20-1-1 on the road this season.

In Cranbrook, B.C., Steele Boomer and the Kootenay Ice (30-16-2-2) welcome Dustin Cameron and the Prince Albert Raiders (26-22-1-2).

The Ice dropped a 6-5 overtime decision to the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday night for their second straight setback, but remain in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Ice boast nine different players who have scored 10 or more goals.

The Raiders have been idle since downing the visiting Ice 5-2 in Prince Albert last Saturday, snapping Kootenay's 14-game winning streak, and currently sit in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. The Raiders have lost seven straight games on the road.

In Lethbridge, AB, Austin Fyten and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (16-28-3-2) host Willie Coetzee and the Red Deer Rebels (26-19-0-4) for a Central Division match-up.

The Hurricanes suffered a 4-1 loss to the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday for their second straight setback and their fifth loss in their last six games. The Hurricanes are 8-13-3-0 on home ice this season.

The Rebels are coming off a 4-3 shootout triumph over the visiting Tri-City Americans on Wednesday, rallying from a 3-0 deficit in the process, for their second straight win and their third triumph in their last four games. Coetzee (21g-44a) leads the Rebels in scoring with 65 points this season.

In other WHL action on Friday, Derek Hulak and the Saskatoon Blades (33-11-2-3) host Cody Eakin and the Swift Current Broncos (25-23-0-3) for the first of two weekend meetings between the teams.

The Blades edged the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday night to snap a three-game losing skid, and currently sit tied on points with Brandon for top spot in the East Division and Eastern Conference. The Blades are 17-5-2-0 at home this season.

The Broncos are coming off a 3-2 overtime victory over the Warriors on Tuesday night, snapping a three-game losing skid of their own, and currently sit three points behind the Raiders for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Eakin shares the WHL lead with 35 goals this season.
