
Ice Riding Four-Game Win Streak

WEEKEND SWEEPING: The Ice swept a pair of home games with the Sioux City Musketeers posting a 3-2 victory on Friday night and a 7-2 rout on Saturday evening from Pepsi Coliseum.
1/8/10 vs. SXC- Max Cook's goal with just under three minutes left in regulation lifted the Ice to the win. Defensemen Nick Bailen and Anthony Bitetto also lit the lamp, while Nic Dowd handed out two assists. Casey DeSmith earned the win in net with 23 saves.
1/9/10 vs SXC- 13 different Ice players made the scoring column with Indy receiving goals from Alex Wideman, Kevin Goumas, Brian Ferlin, Nic Dowd, Frankie DeAugustine, Shane Berschbach and Nick Bailen. Max Cook added a pair of assists, while DeSmith made 17 saves between the pipes.
INDY FIVE-O: For the second consecutive season, the Ice will have a full hand of all-stars at the 2010 USHL All-Star Game. Representing Indy on the East squad are goaltender Cab Morris and defenseman Nick Mattson and forwards Shane Berschbach, Max Cook and Bryon Paulazzo. Last year's five-man contingent included goaltender Brett Bennett, defenseman Joe Hartman and forwards Berschbach, Brandon Richardson and Stanislav Galiev.
ALL-STARS IN INDY: The Ice and the city of Indianapolis are hosting the 2010 USHL All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 26th from Pepsi Coliseum. The two-day festival will also feature a USHL All-Star Gala on Monday, January 25th with special guests Jimmy Carson and Scott Howson. Carson played ten NHL seasons and was part of the famous Wayne Gretzky trade to LA in 1988, while Howson is the General Manager of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets and a former Indianapolis Checkers forward. Stay tuned for this week's news on the line-up for the Legends Game featuring former Indianapolis stars and other special participants which will be played prior to the All-Star game on Tuesday. LET'S STREAK: The Ice has won four straight games tying a 09-10 season-high (11/18-11/27)...Casey DeSmith has won four straight starts in net...Nic Dowd (2G, 6A) and Bryon Paulazzo (2G, 4A) are riding five-game point streaks....Max Cook carries a four-game point streak (2G, 3A) into this week's action, while Shane Berschbach (G, 4A) and Kevin Goumas (G, 3A) own three-game point streaks...Nick Bailen has a goal in two straight games....The Ice is 7-3-0 in their last ten games....Indy has won three straight games against the West Division.
