Montreal, December 9th, 2009 - Looking to rebound from their 4-1 loss against the Val D'Or Foreurs this past Sunday afternoon, the Montreal Junior hosted Richard Martel's Chicoutimi Sagueneens at the Verdun Auditorium. Pascal Vincent's troops headed into the game with a record of 14-15-0-2, and would add one to the win column by a final score of 3-2.

The first twenty minutes saw the Junior outshoot their opponent 12-11, but no goals were scored by either team. Montreal forward Trevor Parkes opened up the scoring on a penalty shot at 1:50 of the 2nd. Later on in the period, while the Juniors' David Stich and Chicoutimi's Steve Lebel were each in the penalty box serving roughing minors, Rock Régimbald evened the score at one goal apiece. On Montreal's sixth power-play of the game, Jeremy Gouchie's 9th of the season broke the tie between the two teams. David Stich and Alex Wall were both credited with assists. With less than five minutes remaining, Alexandre Lavoie tied the game once again, only to see Chris Thorne push his team back ahead just 21 seconds later, a goal that would prove to be the game-winner.

Juniors' goaltender Jake Allen had a 26-save performance in the win. On the other side of the rink, Finland-born netminder Christopher Gibson stopped 28 shots.

The Junior will end their home stand this Friday night against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar at 7:35 p.m., before packing up for a pre-Christmas road trip featuring games against the Gatineau Olympiques this Sunday, December 13th at 4 p.m., and a Thursday-night rematch against the Foreurs, December 17th at 7:35 p.m.

Le Junior de Montréal affrontait en cette journée de temp=EAte les Saguenéens de Chicoutimi =E0 l'Auditorium de

Verdun. La formation montréalaise était en qu=EAte d'une 15e victoire cette saison. Les deux équipes ont livré une chaude lutte durant les 60 minutes, mais ce sont les hommes de Pascal Vincent qui l'ont finalement emporté par la marque de 3 =E0 2. Le Junior détient maintenant une fiche de 15-15-0-2.

Malgré les quelques 10 tirs tentés par les deux équipes, aucun but n'est marqué lors du

premier vingt. Durant le deuxi=E8me tiers,

Trevor Parkes inscrit le premier but au tableau alors qu'il déjoue Gibson par un tir de pénalité. Rock Régimbald niv=E8le la marque =E0 la quatorzi=E8me minute de jeu. En troisi=E8me période, Jérémy Gouchie donne une avance aux siens en supériorité numérique d=E8s les premi=E8res minutes de jeu. Les Saguenéens parviennent toutefois =E0 égaliser grâce =E0 Alexandre Lavoie. Chris Thorne réussit =E0 riposter quinze secondes plus tard pour inscrire le but de la vicoire.
