Royals Announce 2010 Schedule

November 24, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) Omaha Royals

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals today announced their 2010 Pacific Coast League schedule. The Royals will open their 42nd season - their final campaign at Rosenblatt Stadium - with a home game on Thursday, April 8th at 7:05 p.m., facing the Memphis Redbirds.

The season opener will be the first of many Thirsty Thursday night games, which feature $1 beers and Cokes. The Royals 2010 presenting sponsor, Werner Enterprises, will present most of the team's Fireworks Fridays, beginning on Friday, April 9th. On Saturday, July 3rd, the Royals will host the Iowa Cubs at 6:35 p.m., with the game followed by the 26th annual Omaha World-Herald Fireworks Spectacular, also presented by the City of Omaha and the Omaha Royals. Other Saturday home games will feature giveaways or nationally known entertainment acts.

Sundays are again Family FUNdays, when all kids are invited to run the bases with Casey after the game. Monday night home games feature $1 hot dogs. General Admission tickets are just $2 on Valpak 2-Buck 2uesdays. Wednesday night contests remain Subway Kids Eat Free nights, while fans will enjoy half-price Omaha Steaks burgers during weekday noon games. The final game at Rosenblatt is Thursday, September 2nd vs. Round Rock.

"As we prepare for our 42nd and final season at Rosenblatt, we are excited about the continued growth of Omaha Royals baseball," said Martie Cordaro, Royals Vice President/General Manager. "We look to increase our attendance base for the fifth consecutive season."

72 of the Royals 144 games will be played at Rosenblatt. Omaha will face each of their seven American Conference rivals 16 times, eight times at home. The Royals will host each of the four Pacific Conference North clubs in a four-game series, while traveling to each of the four Pacific Conference South teams for a four-game set.
