B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced today that BC Lions quarterback Casey Printers and defensive end Ricky Foley are the Gibson's Finest Players of the Week for the division semi-finals in the Offensive, Defensive and Canadian Player categories.
Printers led a potent Lions offensive attack in last week's thrilling 34-27 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Semi-Final, throwing for 360 yards on 24 completions as well as an eight-yard touchdown toss to Ian Smart in overtime to secure the Lions victory. In just his fourth start since returning to the club this past September, the fourth-year Leo also added 13 yards on the ground on two running plays - which included a 12-yard second quarter TD romp into the Hamilton endzone.
Foley was a force on the Lions defensive line last weekend, contributing six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in Sunday's win. No stranger to CFL Player of the Week awards, the league's sack leader and West Division nominee for Outstanding Canadian also picked up Defensive Player of the Month kudos for September. Foley's selection as Outstanding Canadian was a unanimous decision.
Gibson's Finest Players of the Week are chosen by a panel of judges - former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
The BC Lions travel to Montreal to take on the Alouettes in the East Final on Sunday, November 22nd at 1:00 pm (ET). Catch all the action live on the new home of the Lions, TEAM 1410 - Sunday's pregame show begins at 8:00 am.
