November 11, 2009 - Southern League (SL) Birmingham Barons

HOOVER - Former Barons pitcher Mark Buehrle earned his first Gold Glove Tuesday when Major League Baseball announced the American League recipients of the award. Buehrle's 2.28 ERA placed him third in the Southern League among pitchers who tossed at least 112.0 innings. He threw 119.2 innings while striking out 118 batters and walking just 17 before being promoted to the White Sox on July 16 of that season.
